Shrek The Musical

Why see Shrek The Musical?

Bursting back onto the stage

It's time to head back to the swamp as this brand new tour of Shrek the Musical comes to town in 2024. From the minds behind Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Hairspray, this exciting new production invites you to enter the fairytale world once more, where Shrek and his noble steed Donkey are ready to bring their hilarious adventure to a whole new audience. With the film's catchy and classic soundtrack, including 'I'm A Believer', and all the jokes, joy and heart you loved, Shrek the Musical is the ultimate feel-good family night out!

What is the story?

Shrek, a large green ogre, lives alone in his swamp. When a whole host of fairytale creatures, evicted from the Kingdom of Duloc, begin squatting on his land, Shrek sets off to address the matter with Lord Farquaad. On his way, he rescues Donkey from a gang of Farquaad's ruffians. The grateful Donkey offers his friendship and guidance to the lost and grumpy ogre. At Castle Duloc, Farquaad demands that in exchange for getting his swamp back, Shrek must rescue Princess Fiona, whom he intends to marry. But Fiona is not your average damsel in distress, and holds her own alarming secret that changes everything!

Fantastic

Absolutely amazing

The acting, the signing and the whole show was just brilliant. We do the theatre a lot and this is in my top 3 favourites. I’ve seen a lot of reviews by parents complaining their children were bored, but my 7 year old son sat through the whole thing absolutely obsessed, he didn’t take his eyes of the stage. We seen a few people leave but this was just due to younger children struggling to sit through the show. It really was brilliant, I couldn’t find one thing to complain about. We all loved it! The actress who played the dragon has the most amazing voice! She really stood out for me and was my favourite! And the actress who played the gingerbread man was great, she got the voice spot on! :) 10000% recommend! ... Read more
